Cashier Privileges

Decide what each cashier can do at the till, then clone it in one click.

What it does

Per-cashier permission overrides for POS-specific actions, layered on top of whatever a cashier's role already allows. A companion screen bulk-copies one cashier's full set of POS overrides onto any number of other cashiers at once.

How it works

Grant on top of the role

Pick a cashier, then check or uncheck individual POS privileges - these are additive overrides on top of their role's permissions, not a replacement for them.

Save per cashier

Each cashier's override set is reviewed and saved independently of every other cashier's.

Clone a known-good setup

Copy Privileges picks one source cashier and any number of targets, then overwrites each target's overrides with the source's - useful for starting a batch of new hires off with the same restrictions.

The problem it solves

Not every cashier should be trusted with the same actions at the register - voiding lines, processing returns, or overriding a price are exactly the kind of actions worth restricting to senior or trusted staff. Per-cashier overrides give that control without inventing a new role for every exception, and bulk-copy means onboarding a dozen new cashiers with the right restrictions doesn't mean repeating the same clicks a dozen times.
