Cash In/Out Tracking

Two independent views of every non-sale cash movement, so nothing slips through.

What it does

A pair of related reports covering cash moving through the till outside of a sale or return: a petty-cash flow report of each in/out movement by reason code, and a separate accounting-voucher-based report for cross-checking the same period against the posted ledger.

How it works

Filter by direction and reason

The petty-cash report defaults to cash-out, with a reason-code list scoped to whichever direction (in or out) is picked - float top-ups, bank drops, and similar movements.

Cross-check against the accounting ledger

The voucher-based report is sourced independently from posted payment/receipt vouchers rather than the till's own petty-cash log, so the two can be compared for agreement.

Search and filter live

Both reports support branch, date, and register filters, plus a live text quick-filter over notes and reasons that narrows the grid instantly without a new query.

Export for review

Both export straight to Excel for offline reconciliation.

The problem it solves

Cash doesn't only move through sales and refunds - float top-ups, bank drops, and manual corrections happen constantly at a busy register, and if they aren't logged and reconcilable, the over/short figure at shift close just becomes unexplained noise. Having two independently-sourced views of the same cash movements means a mismatch between them is itself a signal that something needs a closer look.
