Accounting
Every sale, purchase, payment, and payroll run lands here as a balanced entry — automatically.
What it is
Accounting is Platinum's general ledger — the chart of accounts, the daily vouchers, and every balanced debit/credit entry the business generates. It's also where a human enters things no other screen creates on its own: manual journal vouchers, debit/credit notes, and cash or bank settlements with clients and suppliers.
How it works
Set up the chart of accounts once
Build the account tree and link the handful of system roles every automatic posting needs — Sales, Purchase VAT, Cash, Cheques-in-hand — so every other domain's postings know exactly which accounts to hit.
Most vouchers post themselves
Posting an invoice in Sales or Purchase, closing a POS shift, or finalizing a salary slip in HR Payroll writes a balanced voucher here automatically — no one has to open Accounting to make that happen.
Enter what isn't automatic
Anything that doesn't come from another domain — a manual adjustment, a debit/credit note, a cash or cheque settlement with a client or supplier — gets entered directly here as a Daily Voucher, Note, or Payment/Receipt.
Reconcile and close
Pull an Account Statement for any account/date range, track cheques through to clearing or bouncing, and lock a period closed once it's reconciled so nothing already-reported can be silently edited.
The problem it solves
Most ERPs make you choose between fast operational screens (sell something, buy something) and a correct set of books — one team enters the sale, another team re-keys it into accounting, and the two drift apart. Platinum posts the accounting entry automatically the moment a Sales, Purchase, POS, or Payroll transaction is posted, so the books are never a separate, manually-reconciled system.
Connects to
Every posted Sales invoice writes a balanced voucher here: debits the client's AR account, credits Sales revenue and VAT payable.
Every posted Purchase invoice writes a balanced voucher here: debits Purchases and VAT receivable, credits the supplier's AP account.
Each POS sale posts its own self-balancing voucher split by payment method (cash, card, etc.), on top of rolling up into Sales' aggregated invoice type.
Stock adjustments and transfers that affect value (not just quantity) post a voucher here against the account chosen for that adjustment type.
A finalized salary slip and posted employee transactions (advances, deductions) each write their own voucher here.
