Annual Holidays

The official company holiday calendar, and proof of who worked through it.

What it does

Maintains the company's holiday calendar - named date ranges like public holidays or company-wide days off - which the Attendance screen automatically checks against, so those days are never mistaken for an unexplained absence. A companion read-only view lets HR pull up every punch a specific employee made during a holiday period, used as an audit check during offboarding.

How it works

Add a holiday

Name the holiday and set its start and end date; it can span a single day or a longer range.

It applies automatically

Any date inside a saved holiday range is recognized company-wide the moment attendance is processed for that day - no per-employee setup needed.

Check who worked through it

For a given employee, pull up every punch that falls inside any holiday date range - a quick way to see whether someone actually worked days they were supposedly off.

The problem it solves

Public holidays and company closures need to be defined once, centrally, rather than trusted to every manager's memory - otherwise attendance reports fill up with false 'absences' on days nobody was expected to work. The holiday-punches audit view exists for the moments that actually matter, like verifying entitlements or resolving a dispute during an employee's termination process, where someone needs a definitive answer, not a guess.
